From the walls of his own house to the halls of many distinguished buildings and the homes of many an admirer, Jackie’s Line Art decorates, enhances and lays claim to conversations around the globe.
Here we present the artist's interpretations of industrial installations from around the globe. We hope you enjoy these works of Line Art. Jackie also takes commissions to illustrate facilities of your choice.
The artist elegantly represents the architecture of private and commercial buildings. Jackie is also happy to render your home, office, or workplace for display in his distinctive style.
Architectural Rendering is a form of Line Art practiced for many centuries. Some of the most interesting Line Art available today are depictions of ancient structures and buildings.
Line Art, often black and white or black and stone, is always more interesting with the addition of color. As various natural pigments were used, additional expression was added to these displays. Color was key!
Jackie Barnard is an artist and an architect. He draws lines. Some call his drawings art. He calls them doodles. He says it is exciting, a thrill, a great stress reliever. Drawing is his passion.
He started drawing with crayons when he was about five. His mother encouraged him…but to draw on paper…NOT her freshly painted white walls.
In school his favorite classes were Art and Drafting. Teachers encouraged him to pursue architecture as a career.
After graduation from Texas Tech School of Architecture, Lubbock Texas, where he was known as “The Doodler”, he doodled on calendars and notepads while talking with clients and sales reps. Even today, at conferences, conventions, on planes, on a cruise, while waiting for his doctor, he doodles.
Some of his doodles are for stress relief. Others are the start of a new project. He specializes in commercial and industrial projects like car dealerships, banks, office warehouses and retail centers in his architectural practice. Numerous doodles of his hang in clients’ offices.
“Designing puts me in a world of my own,” says Jackie, “a world with no cares, no politics, no demands, no responsibilities, just designing - whether it is a new building that is both beautiful and functional or just something for fun.”
To the right you will see two pictures. The top one is Jackie as a hard-working architectural student, and the lower one is the artist at his board, still drawing - by hand, as is his desire - offices, dealerships, residences and other artwork in the classical fashion, with pen, pencil and paper.
